Quick Question Re:Buying Abroad

Jul 22, 2003 3 Replies

After reading the French Property thread and not knowing anything about buying a house (too young) I was just wondering what does the actual process involve, specifically the mortgage paying bit. Say if i were to see a cheap little house in France for 50k EURO (37k GBP) would I have to have French mortgage lender or could it be an English one? A very stupid question but I was not sure of the answer.

Also what other major things need to be considered when moving there, im thinking taxes etc..?

cheers

Liam

HI Liam, You are most welcome to ask any question you wish, their is no such thing as a stupid question. Firstly, I would like to say that their is tons of information available on the internet alone. I have done stacks of internet research, and even pinpointed the exact location where you can get best prices, along with all the draw backs.

My advice for finding out what you wish to know is to go and look on the websites that deal with French Property. They where given in the thread on french properties, you can continue following through and you will find all info from different french property websites and magasines.

Goodluck
