And serves the greedy crooks right. These things are foisted on people unknowingly.

They are certainly sold by the inexperienced.

My 17 year old neice is expected to sell two of these a week to people buying kiddies clothes.

Previously, for every 100 taken they paid out about 20 claims. Now, they'll still pay out those 20 claims and (from the figures in the article), *half* of the policyholders (might) also get their money back, so that's 70 "out" for every 100 "in". They're still making 30 for every 100 to cover their costs & profit!
