I am applying for a remortgage and it would appear that the Co-op bank

Launch a formal complaint. Try to get the original loan documentation out of them via a subject access request under the Data Protection Act. Although the property may not be registered with the Land Registry, talk to there customer service people . Check that the conveyancer has issued a DS2
