That's what I do! Of course I'm retired..... The tailgating situation is getting worse in this area, partly because the roads are being reduced to one lane in each direction by 'pinches' which create parking bays, etc. Overtaking is impossible.

I was in a Mondeo ;-)

I don't think I've ever seen a badly driven Mondeo. ;-)

LOL!

Maybe if you had donned the fluorescent jacket (look on the back shelf of your car) the driver behind might have seen you and backed off ;-)

That's funny! I bought one of those Dayglo vests a week or two ago, £1.99 in LiDL, but as everyone in Spain knows, they are supposed to be hung on the front passenger seat. Over there you have to carry one for every passenger, I'm not sure if that applies to the whole of Europe.

They DO help others to see you, especially now that every car is silver. ;-)

Indeed. I don't give a tuppenny toss about the limit when passing schools with crowds of children about - my main priority is avoiding the children. If running over children at 19.99 mph is good for Mr. Funkster's stress levels, then that's his choice.

Can I be the one to point out that it's going to be over a month before you find ANY sprog within half a mile of a school...?

That's why I specified "crowds of children". Why TF are there 20 mph limits past schools at 3 am? Or 11 am, for that matter, when they're all logged in and supervised.

Wrong! They will be playing games on the school field if it hasn't been sold off by this Tory govmint. Also they will climb on the roof and try to set fire to it.

I live within sight of a Primary school, at least I see the flames and smoke when it is burning.

The fact that it's a school and therefore the above point is incorrect.

Who'll be as far away from the school as they can get.

Say what? I think you have got completely confused somewhere.

In my previous post I'm driving carefully past schools, the driver behind is the one with the angry face and stress.

This is true but if you do happen to hit a kid (with your car) in the school holidays or even at night, and you happen to be going past a school at above the limit. You sir will be proper dragged over the coals by the police and probably the local papers too.

The important as far as the coppers are concerned is the fact is that there is a school there, regardless of what time it is.

So kids are perfectly fair targets at lower speeds or away from schools?

Umm, I think it's the subtle detail that you've run over a kid that they MIGHT be a little more concerned about. I'm not convinced that the location/time/velocity are the real keys here.

Er no, in your previous post you're driving "dead on the limit" past schools.

Nothing to do with "carefully".

Reply to

You can but you'll be wrong. For as long as I can remember , kids have often hung around near schools at weekends or in holidays.
