I wonder how much of this company's business goes through the books?

All of it, I would imagine.

Have you phoned them to complain?

Don't let the utter lack of evidence and prejudice of the OP get in the way of a good rant though.

Hmm, why do you think he did that? IME even total idiots don't do that for no reason.

last time I got that it was because I had been so totally ignorant that I was doing 20mph in a 20mph zone past a school down a narrow lane.

Obviously I fully deserved it...

The staff here at M.J.Quinn have been trained in the following areas:

  1. Creating a Culture of Customer Care 2. Filtering Commitment through the communication chain 3. Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness 4. Level of defects & Recalls 5. Company objectives

Perhaps training staff to respect other road users could be number 6 .

Why not report him to the police anyway? If he went on to do it to someone else, THEY may have reported it already. Maybe someone else reported it already?

One report tends to be one word v another - more than one person reporting it - plus you have the vehicle details - means it would get investigated.

It's got to be worth a try.

It's only 20mph if there is a speed camera nearby!

The only reason for the 20mph sign in the first place is to allow the parents to double park outside of the school on the pedestrian crossing to let their kids out from the car's roadside door.

Nah, you should *not* ignore them!

The correct procedure is to **slow down** enough, so that the gap in front is big enough to cover *both* your stopping distance, *and* the required stopping distance for the tailgating car behind you. ;-)

It's called viral marketing in reverse. It might make readers think twice about using that company and thus will hit their profits. Admittedly it would also make sense to tell the firm.

My son was driving down the M1 with a passenger. There was White Van Man driving down the outside lane at 60 mph blocking everybody from using the outside lane.

On the rear door of the van it said ' Mick Bolton, Electrician. Ring me on Mobile No 07xxxxxx.

My son rang the number, (on hands free of course).

"Am I speaking to Mick Bolton?"

"Yes"

" Then f*******ng move over and let us all get past!"

I'm having a double take here. Is this uk.finance or uk.rec.driving? And what has crap driving got to do with finance anyway?

Can't buy a white van or a mobile without money.

Oh I see. Thanks for enlightening me! :D

Don't need to buy one to use one.

True, but it has to be paid for somehow.

Firstly, it was cross posted to various driving related groups, secondly, as I pointed out, it can and should affect the finances of the company via bad publicity.

I allways go dead on the limit past schools and f**k anyone behind me if they are getting pissy about it, it's their stress level that will suffer, not mine.

Mondeo drivers are the worst with BMW drivers a very very close second.

I don't always find it is appropriate to go quite as fast as the limit would permit. Sometimes that would be a good deal too fast.

...just so you don't think I'm grossly irresponsible all the time!

Best wishes all, Dave.
