Refused Income Protection Insurance

Nov 13, 2006 2 Replies

I've been refused Income Protection insurance by a certain large French insurance company, because of my medical history listing a mental health problem. That came as a bit of a surprise, as: a) I've been symptom-free for a long time now b) I'm perfectly happy to exclude anything mental-health related in the policy

I was wondering if there are any specialist financial advisors or insurance brokers dealing with this? A bit like mortgage brokers for people with bad credit?

TIA! Bob

Forgot to mention: c) Never taken any sick days related to this...

I would have thought any good IFA should be able to help with this. They are used to looking at the whole market to meet their client's particular requirements. Just ask around to see if anyone knows a good IFA in your area.

Good luck! Adam
