Can someone recommend a software package for personal tax self assessment?

Well, if your tax affairs are relatively simple, you can use HMRC's own software, 'Online Tax Return - Self Assessment', free on the SA website. They have a limited range of supplementary pages, so check first. All other commercial programs are payable, but I've heard some good things about Tax-Calc - around 25.
