No problem.

You won't get any tax back when changing from BR to 474Lw1, this is a sort of intermediate stage. The tax refund should come when you finally get the 'proper' 474L code with no 'w1' at the end.

Well it looks like a long way off yet because apparantly the IR have sent me a P91 form last week, which is yet to arrive. They said my code won't change for about a month after I've sent that off.

By that time I will be working at a different Wetherspoon pub, will this change anything? Will I be back to square 1?

It shouldn't change anything. Will you still be paid by the same payroll department ? If so it will make no difference at all.

Er it wasn't impossible for me when working in a members club with drinks prices half those of JDW pubs and a fraction of the number of customers to turn over 2k, and that's without any food etc. that JDW also serves. I think you need to revise that upwards to 10k, which seems to be fine to me for a city centre JDW's, and makes a pretty reasonable 10m pa.
