Student Loans

After a bit of a shake up in my personal life, it looks like I'm going to have about £10K to play with before the end of the year, and I can't think of a better opportunity to ditch my job and go to uni.

I've been doing a bit of looking into student loans. Fingers crossed I won't need one, but I'm considering applying anyway, since some have said that it's the cheapest loan you'll ever get, so it's worth it even if it just sits in a high interest account until it's needed.

What's the concensus here? Is it worth getting a loan that I may not need, or would it be more sensible not to bother?

Thanks

Tim

Whether it's worth it depends on whether you feel the amount you'll make is worth the (small amount of) bother you have setting the account up and investing the money.

I would whether I needed it or not. It is no hassle to apply for and I dont even think it starts accumulating interest while you are on the course and then you can pay it all off at once with no penalty at the end of the course or whenever.

I'm pretty sure it does, although the interest rate is fairly low 3.1% APR this year (Sept03-Aug04).
