Tax Bands 2008/09

I know the income tax free allowance for the coming financial year will be £5435 with the 10% band being abolished and the basic rate being reduced to



20%, but has the upper limit of the basic rate band been set yet? I haven't heard anything about it.

This states that the limits will be set in the budget which generally takes place in March.

Not officially announced yet, but it'll almost certainly go up with inflation. They tend to announce any deviation from this well in advance. Last budget they announced it'll go up next year (Apr 09) by inflation plus 800.
