Does anyone know what paper money is made from? Why isn't this paper used for "waterproof notebooks"? Because the stuff they currently use (allegedly stone based?) isn't very good.

I'm sure Google knows. Google knows everything.
And I'm sure I even showed you how to use it yesterday.
It did tell me what it was made of, but not why it isn't widely used for other things.

We've had plastic fivers in Scotland for over a year. Australia (I think) has had all of them plastic for the last decade.
Romania also has plastic banknotes and they can be washed. Indeed, people sometimes refuse to accept banknotes if there is writing on them.
