Transferring very small business into wifes name

Jan 17, 2006 0 Replies

I am full time employed, and also registered as self employed because from time to time I do various freelance jobs.

I also run a website which makes a small annual profit ( < 2,000).

My wife is currently not working.

Can I transfer ownership of the website into my wife's name in order to take advantage of her personal tax allowance? She is also currently registered as self employed as she does a very small amount of freelance work while looking after our son. It is unlikely that she'll earn more than 2 to 3 thousand per tax year.

Thanks, A.
