TSB to charge low use users for credit card.

That's my card going back. I had a letter from them last year saying use it or lose it. I just keep that one for the low credit limit I have on it and use it for internet transactions. Derek.

Well, if they class me as a low user mine will also go back.

The 'bonus points' system is useless anyway...

Not rec'd a letter but I rang customer services and was told I'd have to ring the "customer retentions unit" on another number (0845 601 8510). Was told I couldn't be put thru' to them via customer services because they are currently experiencing a very high volume of calls. Go figure, Lloyds TSB.

Only ever used the card for a balance transfer, and that was paid of last year some time. Just never got around to cancelling the card. I'm never loyal to banks as far as they are concerned. I've used them to my advantage for several years, so I guess its pay back time, but not from me.

Many years ago when I had a Barclaycard they introduced an annual charge of around 12. That was when I switched to TSB and the other cards I now have. Derek..

Snap! I preferred the way things were before the fuss about unfair charges made them look for other ways to take it from those of us who manage our accounts correctly. :-(

Bitstring , from the wonderful person Derek F said

Likewise. I vaguely recall Barclaycard and Lloyds Mastercard (or whatever it was called back then) both lost my custom in the same 12 month period.

That's odd. My memory tells me that it was Access that introduced the charge, and Barclaycard that was free, but you could be right. Whichever it was, it didn't last long.

Personally I believe that the rot set in when they started to fall over themselves to give interest free transfers and 'cashback'.

If they charged people interest for borrowing money instead of paying them to take it, there wouldn't be a problem

Having held an Access card from almost the outset I would say they have never levied a charge. I am pretty sure Barclays did it first.

ISTR that the three (main) banks involved in 'access' all had their own policy on this.

It is quite possible that one raised a charge whilst yours didn't'

Possibly

Yes, possible - but to the best of my knowledge of that time no collaborators in the Joint Credit Card Company applied a fee to their Access Cards.

Barclays certainly did! I still have the indignant letter I wrote when I cut up my Barclay card. :-)

Experiencing "a very high level of calls" is idiot speak for having a low volume of staff!

I would never encourage the illegal activity as carried out by the banks/credit card companies.

Yes, that response always annoys me.

You should instead, just encourage the authorities to make the activity legal!

I thought you said you were going to explain what activities would make bank reconciliation's unnecessary?
