WM I haven't got my degree yet. Can I do a course with the OU even though I'm doing another degree?

WM No, but I could perhaps arrnage it to get the free degree. I want to do a law degree but can't afford the OU course fees.

Well, you just need to check their site on student support.

Bear in mind, you have to get on JSA, and that does not mean just being unemployed.

If you are already being financed, for the present degree, they would want to know why you dropped it etc. before all the other questions.

Never do anything, which may backfire, unless you have it in writing.

WM I've had a look and decided I'll get nothing. I'll wait a few years and will do the course when I have money for the fees.

Quite correct. I know a couple of unemployed graduates in their 40s who would love to make a career change but are too skint to do it. One of them remarked recently on the large numbers of unemployed he was now mixing with who had no qualifications whatsoever and apparently no intention by any government of aiding them in getting qualified to work.
