Very stupid question about council tax.

Jan 26, 2005 3 Replies

If one has a studio apartment within a large apartment building, I am guessing that the studio would be Band A or Band B - there is no-way the council people would take the size of the entire building into their calculations, would there?

And if you think of a small-ish studio for two people inc seperate kitchen and bathroom, would we guess Band A-C? Thanks.

look it up ??

It's actually based upon what the individual flats' value would have been in April 1991, (or 1990), and definitely doesnt take account of the size of the entire building.

In Manchester, this type of flat tends to be an A.

Does such a site exist for Scotland?
