What documents do I get after buying a flat?

Dec 22, 2004 2 Replies

I have bought a flat a few weeks ago without a mortgage.

What sort of documents regarding "ownership" should I expect to get from my solicitor? And when?

I think the documents have change recently and that things like Title Deeds (and perhaps my Lease) have been replaced by something more modern.

Can anyone advise please.

You get a printout from the Land Registry, after the conveyance is registered. It doesn't get registered, of course, until the sale has completed. Expect it to take a month or two.

When you get it, chjeck it is correct - they do make mistakes sometimes.

You (and anyone else for that matter ) can also get a copy of the print out and plan (including the information on what you paid for the flat) from the Land Registry website for a few pounds.
