How sent? CHAPS is same day, BACS takes 2 days (they call it a 3 day cycle only because they include the day of the instruction as the first day).

That's the trouble if you have a passive ISA which doesn't know the money is coming until you've pushed it from the current account.

Some ISAs are fed using an active pull, e.g. NS&I, where you can deposit by Switch. In that case the money counts as deposited on the day of the instruction, even if they don't actually receive the funds until a few days later. At least it should count for the purposes of which tax year's allocation is used up, it might not count for actual interest earning purposes.

That means you should be able to instruct a transfer even on 5th April itself (if it's a working day - this year it's a Saturday and instructions taken then might not be acted on util Monday).

Still not showing on my Alliance and Leicester ISA. I have sent them a "secure message". Lets see what they come back with.

Boring update: I missed the deadline :(

You should have paid by Switch.

I did, with NS&I, on 3rd April IIRC, and am safe. Pity their rate has gone down from 5.8% to 5.55%.

And now to 5.3%. :-(

What are my options for an ISA this year now I missed the deadline. Can I take out another ISA with a different provider? Can I have 2 ISAs with different providers opened in different tax years?

The only deadline you've missed is for *last* year. Your options for

*this* year (which started just a few days ago) are unlimited.

You can have as many ISAs with as many providers as you like, so long as you don't contribute to more than one of the same type in the same tax year.
