Errors 919 and 426 for OPOS

Hi, We are unable to print from Register #3.

When we start register #3 we get a Store Operations Manager error "Warning

919: The printer OPOS driver was not found.

When we try to print we get a Microsoft Store Operations POS error; "Invalid Operation 416: The OPOS device is not opened. Make sure the device is enabled in the regidter properties."

Can you help understand what is wrong and what I need to do to fix it? Thanx, Mel

You need to install and configure the OPOS drivers for your printer. This is something that a reseller usually handles during installation and it is somewhat specific to the make/model of your hardware. Post the make and model of your printer, or just search the group for the make or model and you may find instructions already posted...

Hi Glenn,

Thanx for your help. I inherited this. The company that put it in is not local.

The printer is an HP laserjet 1012. If you could point me in the right direction for locating and loading the OPOS drivers for this I would really appreciate it.

Thanx, Mel

Mel,

Glenn was assuming there was a OPOS receipt printer attached.

To fix the problem, SO Manager | Database | Registers | Register List | select Register #3 | Receipt Printer 1 tab | change the Printer Type to Windows | type in the Windows device name _exactly_ as listed in the Printer & Faxes window | Save the changes and re-enter the POS on Reg #3

Hi Jeff, I did the steps you indicated. They were already setup that way for receipt printers #1 & #1. but the errors persist and we are still unable to print.

What else could it be??

Thanx, Mel

Mel,

You must have one of the two receipt printers for that Register set as an OPOS printer.

Try this, set both printers for that Register to "Do not print" then open POS and see if the error continues. If not, enable the Receipt Printer 1 with the settings given earlier and re-open POS.

Hi Jeff, With both printers set to "do not print" it only gave me the 919 error when opening the POS. With receipt printer #1 set to print to windows printer, I received only the 919 error upon opening and then the 426 error when I tried to print a receipt.

I appreciate your help.

Thanx, Mel

Mel,

Are you absolutely positive that you only have 1 machine identified as Register #3 in the store?

SO Admin | File | Connect | put in your password | File | Configuration | Register tab | Register #. Each machine in the store _must_ have a unique register #.
