GL Accountant for Bay Area Start-up

THE PRODUCTS

KeepMedia currently hosts content from more than 300 publications. Until now, consumers have not been able to search archived and current articles from leading publications in one convenient location on the Web. KeepMedia's patent-pending personalization and search technology ensures that consumers will continually be introduced to articles that match their interests. These same personalization features allow publishers to reach new readers and potential subscribers.

In addition, KeepMedia recently launched its newest service, SmartMatch, a fast, free and easy way for consumers to select, add, and control relevant and engaging content from leading publishers to their websites.

THE POSITION

This fast-paced position is an exciting growth opportunity to help formulate the accounting for this future "megasite." The SENIOR ACCOUNTANT will help to build new streams as well as build the GL to accommodate the company's new growth. Essential functions and responsibilities included but not limited to: · Daily Accounts Receivable reconciliation · Accounts Payable management · Monthly financial reporting (journal entries, reconciliation schedules, variance reporting, month-end closing, etc.) · Adherence to GAAP with respect to all accounting interpretations and applications · Involvement with customer operations team as necessary · Partner reporting and royalty processing · All company tax filings · Ad hoc reporting and projects as necessary

THE REQUIREMENTS · The position requires great attention to detail, exercising good judgment in researching and resolving accounting issues and the ability to work independently. · BS in Accounting or Business Administration · Knowledge of GAAP · Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting · Excellent communication skills and attention to detail · Strong computer skills (especially Excel) · Ideally 1 year experience with an e-commerce company · Direct experience with online transaction reconciliation · Accounting experience within the online advertising industry, Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plaines) accounting software, and chargeback management a plus
