Help with moving a company folder

Here's where we are so far...

We started with Complete 2004 single user installed on our book keeper's computer. Then we upgraded to complete 2005 multi-user and Peachtree had me make the Peachtree folder on our book keeper's computer into a network drive and then modify a file on the two computers we added (and unfortunately I've lost my notes) so that Peachtree looked to the network drive for the company.

here's my question...

We now have a stand alone network drive and I want to move the company folder here so that the book keeper's computer doesn't have to be on for everyone else to access the company. Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this? Will I have to modify that file in everyone's computer again?

Not necessary.

When you modified the pcw***.ini file on everyone's computer it assumed that the bookkeeper's computer was mapped as the "x" drive. In your pcw***.ini files you changed the datapath to point to the company folder on the "x" drive. Now that you have moved the company file to a different computer just remap the "x" drive on everyone's computer to point to the new location instead of the bookkeeper's computer. This will eliminate the need to modify the file on everyone's computer.

Thanks! Will I also need to modify the bookkeeper's pcw***.ini file since it has always known the company folder to be on it's system?

Yes.

It would be worth double checking the ini file on each machine to make sure that everything is still set up as expected.
