1)Moving QB - 2)QBI file is what?

1 - I need to move the QB program to another computer (QB 2004 basic.) and uninstall it on the original computer.

What kind of hassels will I run into?

2 - Can I keep the QBW file on a peer to peer machine we use for storing all company files? -It is automatically backed up every night. -It is not a server, just another computer on the network with a folder named "Network Drive" that we all use to store stuff.

3 - When I move the Company Data file (mycompany.qbw) should I worry about mycompany.qbi ?? What is the QBI file ??

thanks for any help.

None that I have encountered. Move the file to the new location and then use QB's file open and navigate to the new location.

Yes that's how I have my 2 computers setup. The QB file is on my laptop downstairs but I frequently access it using the upstairs PC. If you have a single user copy then make sure that only one computer is accessing the file at a time.

The qbi file is created when you access a QB file via the network. It should delete itself when you close QB (or at least thats what happens with my setup). You could move it if it sticks around after you close QB.
