System date/date on checks

When I start Peachtree Complete Accounting 2004, the system date shows the date as 3/15/07 and the date on a check is the first of the current month. Can someone, please, tell me how to set those so that they are correct when I start the software.

Technical help a real tease and they tell me I could get a year's tech help for $279.

Thanks very much.

Did you recently restore your data into a currently open company that was a sample company? Sample companies have a fixed system date that is not today's date. To get the correct date you will need restore your data into a company that is not a sample company. To get the wiped out sample company data back you will need to reinstall Peachtree.

The default date for new transactions is always today's date only if today falls in the current accounting period. If today does not fall in the current accounting period the date will be the 1st of the current accounting period.

Also make sure you have the latest update for Peachtree 2004. You can obtain it by selecting Check for Updates... from the Services menu or following the appropriate link at

you set up your company in the subdirectory for bellweather. it has to be set-up in its own subdirectory. I sell a two hour phone package for less. check my website.
