2.0 .php password query problem

Last night we upgraded our store to 2.0...well technically 2.0128. Anyways, we have a reporting program designed by our reseller, that our employees can access through our intranet. To log in, they need to use their RMS credintials, and in turn the program checks against our database.

Since we upgraded, this does not work....I'm thinking it has to do with the new encryption of the password.

We haven't heard back from them on a fix yet....has anyone else run into this type of scenario?

Check and make sure they are signing in in the same case they are in the database. In other words try it with caps lock on or off to see if it makes a difference. It didn't matter before, now it does.

The password has been changed to hash value in the database after the upgrade. Before it was saved in plain text. Your reseller will have to update their software to work with it.

If anyone knows what hash type RMS uses, that would be very helpful. I need to build some authentication into my addons.

Scott, I am sorry to say that as of RMS 2.0 SP2 Microsoft changed the encryption algorithm. We tried for a long time to work with Microsoft to get this information, but it becomes an issue with PCI compliance at that point. We were able to figure out an alternative method of validation for ourselves, but even if we could give it out, it would not work with PHP.

Thank you,

Simple solution. Do an sql query in so admin to get the password, and one to update it to what it should be.

Or just go to the SO manager and fix it.
