Is there some add-on that would prompt the cashier for birth date when ringing a liquor item?

You can use the item messages under database in store operations manager Give it a title like AGE 21 Enter 21 in the Age Limit (years): field and put a message like Please check ID must be born on or after [DATE] Go into each item select the Special tab and select the message you created in the Item message: field

We have done a development ID manager that allows you to collect data and prompt for age. Also this captures how many this this was done and does not allow the item to be sold if the age criteria is not met for that item (the RMS Standard) can prompt message but does allow you to sell it. Depending on the states the authorities can close your store down if you sell to minors. Contact me for more info.
