Are you familier with an option to display the total weight of an item on the POS screen? I'm thinking that if we could display the total weght and used the weight field in ml we could show the cashier how close the order is to

4000.

Hi Bill, you can use the item messages for both different type of item i.e. for 750 ml liquor item you can put the item messages which says that how many bottles are allow for this. the same you can do for the item which default UOM is

1.75 liters.

The item message help and notify the cashier > I have to limit the amount of liquor that can be sold on a single sale. It

Thanks, It is not a complete solution but I agree that it will help. We will play with it and see how it works.

Thanks aga> Hi Bill,

I have to limit the amount of liquor that can be sold on a single sale. It is based on 4 liters. The systems has liquor items that range from 750 ml to

1.75 liters. Is there a way to add the total when items are rung up and notify the cashier when an item puts the sales over the limit?

Any ideas?

Take a look at "Limit Purchases" in SO Manager. Database/Limit Purchases

Set the limit total points to 4000 Enforce the limit per Day (this may be the killer for you - it's per day not per transaction) Start adding your liquor items. 750Ml gets 750 points, 1.75 l gets 1750 points.. You would have to set a customer on the sale for this to take effect; there's a property in the customer screen that says whether the customer is subject to sales limits or not. Click the Help buttom on the purchase limit screen for more details.

Test this out and see if it works for you...
