There are several default reports that are broken. MS admits that the reports are broken and even offers 'fixed' reports through CustomerSource.
The best example is the Reports | Sales | Detailed Sales report that incorrectly calculates costs and profits on returned items. The 'fixed' report, 'Detailed Sales with Return Values' is available from CustomerSource.
Why not simply replace the default report with one that works? This flaw has been known and acknowledged by MS (by way of the fixed report being available on CustomerSource) since at least v1.2. Fixed in v1.3? No. Fixed in v1.3R? No. Fixed in v2.0? No.
Am I missing something here? Is there some valid reason to not simply fix the broken reports that are installed by default?
