Top Items by Store - HQ

May 18, 2007 4 Replies

Would somebody please tell me that I'm not crazy...

The standard Top Items report is broken. MS acknowledges this by posting a 'fixed' Top Items report on CustomerSource.

The 'fixed' version doesn't work right either.

What I want: Top Items Grouped by ILC Sortable by Sales or Profit with store-by-store totals for qty sold, sales $ and profit $ for each ILC.

I feel as if my expectations should be more or less exactly what the developers intended--but obviously failed to deliver.

I need to know what my best-performing items are for all stores and/or any given store.

This should not be this difficult.

Tom, I'm curious as to what's broken. I use the top performers report all the time and seem to get accurate data. I am not using HQ though so maybe that's the difference. Craig

The Store Ops report works fine.

The HQ report seems unable to sort by any column other than the leftmost if grouped and often has multiple duplicate entries for store details.

The report should look like this:

ILC

--Store 1 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 2 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 3 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 4 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

In reality, for some items it looks like this:

ILC

--Store 1 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 1 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 2 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 3 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 3 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 3 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

--Store 4 - Description/Qty/Sales$/Profit$

Where the duplicate lines contain different quantities of the same ILC.

Plus, if it's grouped by ILC you can't sort by any other column.

Now that I think about it, the grouping/sort thing might be a shortcoming of all RMS reports.

In any case, the HQ reports (both standard and 'fixed') are not very useful.
