I am wondering is there a way to set RMS up, so that only certain employees have to close the register before they start to ring the next transaction? I have some employees who can handle it being open, and other's I notice seem to make mistakes, trying to go too fast.
Are you talking about forcing a login after each transaction, or forcing the Cash Drawer to be closed before transaction completes?
Forcing Login is a storewide setting, although it would be possible to create an add-in that would let you do this based on current cashier.
"Wait for Drawer close" is set up in Register Properties and is global for the drawer. If you added a second drawer, you could set one up to wait for close, and the other not to wait. Then assign cashiers to drawer 1 or drawer 2 based on their trust level.
Generally, you want to enforce the same rules for everyone - makes it easier to train if everyone is working with the same rules.
Hey Glenn, I agree that it would make it easier to train etc., if everyone was on the same page. I was talking about the cash drawer and not login. I was hoping to do it via person, and not register. I have two drawers, and one employee uses both, I just think that he sometimes gets ahead of himself, and messes up. Where as I don't have that problem, but it's not that big a deal.
