Credit Card Approval Code

I am using IcVerify 3.1.6 to process credit card transactions and it is working fine. But, the approval code printed on the receipt shows bunch of numbers and letters (usually two lines long), instead of 6 digit approval code.

When I test the transaction using IcVerify program (not RMS software with multi-user enviorment), the approval code shows only 6 digits.

Is there any way to correct this problem? Please advise. Thank you.

Eric,

Turn on the short answer file. In your ICV multi-user screen, type in a /O (that's an O not a zero) on the initialization string line.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your response. However, it's still not working. I already entered /O on the initialization string.

Eric,

Are you using ICV's 2.5/6 compatibility mode?

What do the approval codes look like?

What do you mean by ICV's 2.5/6 compatibility mode? I am using ICV's 3.1 Release 6.

Eric,

In ICV 3.1 you can set a compatibility mode to support programs written for the older versions of ICV. It doesn't work correctly all of the time, but its in the ICVerify setup program | Merchant tab | SDK Version Used.

1 = 2.46 2 = 2.51 3 = 2.60 4 = 3.0 0 = current version 3.1

Try setting it to 2.

Another option to look at is the Evaluated Response line. Normally its set to Y. Your's may be to something else. This is all described in the Appendix A.

If you change anything, make sure to restart ICV Multi-user for it to take effect.

Hi Jeff,

I'm sorry, I did not respond to your reply early and thanks for your suggestion. However, SDK version change you recommended was not working. If I change to

2 or anything else as SDK verion, IcVerify shows an error message and not processing. Only SDK version 0 is working. Regarding Evaluated Response, it is already set to "Y".

I contacted processing company (RBSLynk) and they tested with IcVerify, and they say there are no problem with RBSLynk and IcVerify.

Something should be done to RMS software, I guess.

Please advise. Thank you.
