Delay before worksheets will run

Mar 14, 2006 1 Replies

My staff has brought this to my attention and I have confirmed that it is indeed happening. It hasn't happend on my PC yet, but I don't run many worksheets, either.

Two users run most of my HQ worksheets. Both of them have experienced a delay between worksheet approval and HQ client processing.

For example, User A creates and approves a 250 then brings up her HQ Client (configured for manual connection only) and clicks 'connect'. The HQ Client connects but finds no worksheet to process. Sometimes the worksheet processes on the second attempt--and sometimes it takes up to four tries.

At first, I thought it might be a clock sync problem, but that's not it. We're all part of a domain and everyone's sync'd with the server on startup.

The process is incredibly cumbersome already. We create new items every day. One 3/9, we processed eight 250 worksheets. Not one of them went through on the first HQ Client connect.

Is this normal?

Well, sometimes it takes a while for the worksheet to finish approving, especially if there are many items in it's contents (addressed by a hotfix to 1.3). I would guess the same thing as you however - the time is a little off between the database server and your HQ Manager workstation. Try this: open HQ Administrator and connect to the HQ Database using File/Connect open a query window - Query/New enter the following in the query window: select getdate() run the query - Query/Run compare the results to the system time...
