HQ Database not updating even after 401 is run

Here's another issue (constant)... I created new items, downloaded them to the local database, then created a purchase order worksheet which included those items.

At the local database I connected to HQ, got the PO and received and committed all the items.

I created a HQ 401 worksheet; and connected to HQ from the local database. The 401 ran with no errors.

The database in HQ did not update with the new inventory numbers. Why not? Sometimes it takes 2 days for the inventory numbers to update. Why?

This really messes up my inventory transfers (among other things). I'm really upset that I can't depend on RMS/HQ on-hand numbers.

I usually run a 401 then a 501. Next I run style 190 in HQ manager to reconcile inventory.

After many e-mails back and forth from Microsoft and an almost 3 hour phone call we were able to update HQ with the purchase orders still outstanding (committed in Store Ops but not updated in HQ). We are still in disagreement about what caused this whole thing, but my tech thought it was caused by:

  1. A 2 minute time difference between the machines.
  2. I have an add-in installed (but not using) that is for RMS 1.3 which I have not upgraded.

Since this all started happening after 1/16/08 and the computer times have never been synced and I've had this add-in since the day I upgraded to 2.0, I kind of have some reservations about his diagnosis. But he got everything working again, so who am I to argue?

He basically reset (refreshed?) the flags on the data tables that the PO uses (I'm not a database person so I don't know exactly what he reset), we ran a 401 and everything was loaded. I created several POs today and they all were updated in HQ.

We were also having issues with the cashier time clocks not updating in HQ. He reset those as well, ran a 401 and HQ finally updated. Weird thing was, some of the employees had updated but not others.

As far as manually creating another 401, I was told by MS in earlier tickets to do that. FYI, my tech did the same thing today (many times). I'm guessing there must be something to it. It's MS RMS - who really knows? Do they? Thanks for the tip about hitting the Connect Button - I really don't want to create a new 401 for every PO. Jennifer
