HQ Client not processing all worksheets

Hi All, Anyone got pointers as to why my hq client will only process worksheets if I manually establish a connection to the server at HQ and then manually set off hq client?

Client and server are both SP2. There is a simple PPtP tunnel that serves as the connection directly to the server. As far as I can tell the store database and HQ database are in synch as is reported by HQ client.

It then just gives up.

...and another thng....Is there anyone in Australia - Melbourne particularly who is using RMS successfully?

Regards

Dan

Dan,

Have you set up a connection schedule between the store and the HQ ? The connection schedule needs to be setup at HQ and it would be downloaded the first time the store sync's up with the HQ (Worksheet 101)

Hope this helps! Niranj Srinivasan.

Dan,

I am in Sydney and have 100 + stores using MRMS connecting via an IPSEC VPN to a central HQ Server. We schedule 401 worksheets for collection by the stores each 1 hour and are having some issues with the reliability of the HQ Client/HQ Server relationship. I am finding that the HQ server 'hangs' on certain store connections. Restarting HQ server regularly always corrects our problem short term.

Hi Niranj, Yes the store(s) are on a schedule.

I think I have figured it out why this is happening, but it will need testing to see if my assumed logic is true.

The POS time (where hq client lives) is incorrectly set and is a minute or so ahead of the server time I discovered. I assume the hq client issues logic of the following form:

Process all worksheets that are **before** my (hq client) time. Since the hq client time is always in the future it never sees the scheduled worksheet and then processes it on the next scheduled connection.

I will see about this I guess and report back my findings.

Thanks Craig It encourages me to know that there is folks out there relatively close by who are heavily invloved with RMS. I am committed to rolling it out for the next 8 stores of the company I am contracted with.

Cheers Dan

Dan,

You should always use NET TIME or the internet time feature in XP across your network. This will ensure that all you clients are set to the same time and date.

Good luck with your rollout. What vertical market are you in?

Craig.
