DO NOT UPGRADE TO RMS SERVICE PACK 2 IF YOU HAVE ADD-ONS

NOTE

RMS service Pack 2 has now been released. This service pack has changed the encryption logic of User Id and Password. If your add-ons require you to use the User Id and Password DO NOT UPGRADE until you check with your Add-On vendor. In the case of Retail Realm PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE to latest service pack until we have had time to release a fix for this problem.

If you use SQL command to update you can bypass the Service Pack password issue for a time - whilst we wait for a fix from the add-on vendors

update cashier set password='password' where number=1

this will set the password to password for cashier with login number 1 but you can change it for whatever cashier

Afshin,

Any word on when a patch will be released for HQ Utilities and RR Import Utility? I have avoided installing RMS SP2 thus far but with no word on when to expect a fix I might discontinue the use of both RR applications to address the bigger issues SP2 (and Hot Fix #10) corrects with RMS.

Quite frankly I have not been able to get any clear information out of RR on when to expect this patch and am growing frustrated.

Any information would be helpful,

Store and HQ Utility fix will be out with version 10 in the next 10 days
