Retail REalm Utilities Bugs

Does anyone else have the following problems when using RR HO utilities with RMS HQ?

1.The import function doesnt work on the item wizard so we have to manually amend 1000's of items when changing departments or categories?

  1. The PO function doesnt work so we have to manually send instructions to stores instead of amending or closing 1000's of PO's at HO.

  2. Multi location does not report stock takes into RMS so cant be integrated into RMS.

Thanks

Yep,

The Retail Realm HQ utility wipes out all your item departments when you import items to update the categories. Really unpleasant when you update 1000 items.

The PO update utility does not work at all. You can check > No :) I wrote my utilities...

Are you saying that the RR utility updates the category of the item but deletes the department AT THE ITEM LEVEL? (ie the department is still available in the department table) - - then yes, not a fun scenario - maybe RR has an updated version that addresses this issue? - - if they don't, are you comfortable working in HQ administrator and running queries?

If you are, then after you do the RR import category update, first run select id, name from category

- - jot down the id assigned to the category whose items dept were wiped out; lets say the id is 33

then run select id, name from department

- - jot down the id assigned to the department that was wiped on those items whose category you updated; lets say the id is 23

then BACKUP YOUR DB, and run update item set departmentid = 23 where categoryid = 33

Not sure if this addresses your questi> Yep,

We had the RR utilities installed at our site. We had a number of issues with it which weren't resolved so we eventually uninstalled it.

Just to put records straight. RR Utilities Store and HQ represent today some

50 + features from extended Serial numbers, 37 new wizards, advanced PO processing, control of Lot Items (with and without Expiry), advanced A/R features, Picking and Packing etc.... The RR Wizards allow you to export and import. The import had a bug that was reported and is now fixed in version 9 of the utility, recently released on our FTP site. There are over 2,000 users of our utility, and the product is both stable and working. Bugs that are reported are not mission critical and are fixed in a timely manner. If Joshua Smith has an issue with Utility I am not aware so please contact me. As for Mr ken Linton, his comments are inaccurate and self serving.

Hi Mr Afshin

If this has been relaesed, where is it? we have been asking for more than 4 months now for this, Hein has been in contact with RR India on more than one occasion and nothing is uploaded.

So i can see why our client is getting concerned.

The new version 9 with the correction is being uploaded with the correction for import utility. What has held us back is a recent change by Microsoft on Service Pack 2. So we have made a decision to release the fix in version 9 and we will release a new version in 2 weeks to handle the bug created by service pack 2. Retail Realm suggests that NO CUSTOMER with add-on be upgraded to service pack 2 if you have any add-ons from any company without checking with them. Service pack 2 has changed the logic of user id and password. This means that if the special development was using user id and password of RMS to control access to the add-on now with the heavy encyption that has been added (without any notice to devellpper community) that the add-on may not work.

We just installed Retail Realm at one site also. Problem after problem and we will likely uninstall it.

  1. Continuous licensing problems
  2. Continuous crashing and instability
