Restock Level and Reorder Point

Hi All,

I have a query regarding Restock level and Reorder point.

In the microsoft documentation for version 1.3 it says that Restocking info. is centrally maintained data and as such, the stores can then use Store operations to override the data as nescessary. HOWEVER, We (microsoft) do not recommend that the stores override this data because the headoffice will not know these changes have occurred.

In the version 2.0 documentation, It states that reorder point and restock level is locally originated data which is information that is maintained by each store. It can be uploaded to Headquarters for viewing, but it cannot be changed there.

How exactly does the restock and reorder information make its way from store to HQ? Is it through a WS401?

Thanks, Matt

Restock levels changed in the store are transmitted to HQ in the next Worksheet 401. These Changes are only visible in the Item Snapshot Quantity List report, and do not change the Store values visible in the item window. The values in the store are not updated if you send a Worksheet 250. (other than when they are new) Be careful - A worksheet 308 (Update Item Restocking info) sends the HQ item value and not the individual store values in the Store Quantity Tab. Worksheet 260 will update the store values with those in HQ Store Quantity.
