When did you get the software? Newer dongles should be USB. Mine, purchased in March, is USB.
I got it on eBay.
Then after getting into the software, I realized that it wan't just plug-and-play so I needed a "partner".
I chose New West Tech when I renewed my service subscription with Miscrosoft but they have never actually done anything for me.
I have been doing everything myself.
Can you upgrade your d> When did you get the software? Newer dongles should be USB. Mine, purchased
I've never had to so I'm not certain, but I'm sure you should be able to obtain a new dongle. Whether there is a fee or not I do not know. I'd contact your partner about this one. They should be able to obtain a USB dongle for you and have all pricing information.
Do you think the Parallel to USB converters will work? Anyone tried that?

I think I have heard of people being able to swap out a usb for parallel key, for a $100 or something...maybe just shipping...can't recall exactly, but there is something you can do if you wan to swap it out. You can also install a PCI Parallalel port on the PC that you could use. I would not rely on any sort of adapter...the rainbow driver (the application that reads the hardware key) is kinda flaky...Also, this is NOT a microsoft issue...the software used the hardware keys long before MS acquired it...It is on the way out - they hate it also...definately hit the guys up at New West, they are great to work with and will get you sorted out.
Hope this helps, Todd NitroSell
