EDC Settings Reverting

Mar 09, 2010 4 Replies

Running RMS 2.0.0123 SO and HQ I have a register that after I:

  1. Updated the Merchant account information in Administrator using a Window Admin ID
  2. Verified with Regedit that the changes were in fact made.
  3. Rebooted the Machine and logged back on using a casher id
  4. Reverified that the EDC changes were in place through regedit

2 hours later the EDC merchant settings reverted to the old nolonger valid settings.

This has now occurred twice.

Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

Thanks,

TomT

This may sound dumb but make sure you are logged in as an administrator in windows. Sometimes changes will not take affect unless the windows administrator made the changes.

I have verified the following:

Yes I am using an administrator account.

After making the change through SO Admin I verified the change through Regedit (everything OK)

I did a Zout - still OK

I shutdown and rebooted still OK

I started POS and did a test Credit card transaction - failed (the EDC infor had reverted to the old settings)

I am not running steady state or any products of that nature.

Any other thoughts would be welcome.

Are you running some kind of program like Steady State that recovers the system to a point back in time?

You should really think about allowing all users full rights to the SO registry key and be done with it anyways.

For 32 bit; OS

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations

For 64 bit OS;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations
