I am having great problems exchanging products. Is there an easier way of doing it rather than creating a refund and selling a new product? Ideally, I would like to do it in one transaction and have a receipt that shows the product coming in and another being sold. Help.
Post the return transaction. Then undo the return mode and post the exchange transaction.
Scan the item you are returning. Go to the quantity field and type the number you are returning, even if it's zero, then backspace and put a minus sign in front of it. This will turn the item negative without making it into a new line item. Then scan the new purchase on the next line. Proceed as a normal sale. Only the line you put the minus in quantity will be a return item, and it will turn red on screen. The rest of the lines, unless also added with a minus in quantity, will remain normal purchase lines.
