First Data

Did I understand this correctly--Dynamics 2009 users are required to use First Data for all their merchant services, loyalty cards, and gift card programs? Would there be a way around this, say, if I have a business associate representing Paymentech that wants to give me a lead without losing a customer?

Thanks Maurice, But, does anyone know of a merchant services company that can emulate vital/Tsys? Not familiar with the term or its meaning.

Many processors offer this option, but you must ask them and specify you need VITAL.

Mercury can do this. Most processors can use the Vital/Tsys setup but the cost for the client usually goes up because of doing this. You dont have the option of PCCharge or TPI either which kind of !#$!. Hopefully TPI gets there integration done soon.

I would recommend staying away from First Data at all costs. They will screw you the moment they get an opportunity.

Very true. Not only will the RMS Partner get screwed, they really take advantage of the customers. Watch out for their merchant contracts and any loaner/lease terminal agreements to the merchants.

Exactly! I had a fraudulent charge through no fault of my own(very long story, but bottom line is I did everything I could have possibly done to verify it was a legitimate transaction. Including a signed contract, address verification, and 3 digit security code on card, and First Data approved of all of it) Also this was the first time it ever happened to me. Didn't matter. They hit me with a ton of fees along with the charge back...and then closed my account effective immediately(luckily I had already opened an other account with an other processor because of their actions, at much better rates I might add). The kicker is that I am still liable for the equipment lease I had with them, even though my new processor couldn't use it. Again, luckily my new provider gave me one at no charge so I didn't have

2 lease payments. I called FD's lease company and explained how they dropped me, not the other way around. But I am still going to be paying the lease for another year or so because of the contract I had signed. :-( So please stay away from them, they care nothing about their customers. There are so many good providers out there you don't need them. And most of them will provide free equipment if you ask. I paid for a very expensive lesson that you can learn from for free.

We use heartland payments and have been very happy with them.

other two have been discussed already, but the Microsoft option hasn't. Currently it uses FDC, Paypal and CyberSource (I think its AUS based).

countries POS2k9 is offered in.

Charge or ICVerify or any other add-ons that were available with RMS with POS2k9. I suspect there will be more options after the first of the year. Remember that this is a month old product!!
