customer loyalty - give gift cert for every $300 spent

does anyone have a recomendation for how to handle this type of loyalty program? Simply we were thinking we could generate a report that shows all customers with sales over $300 and then manually assign them vouchers but this could be time consumming. Also - how do you give a customer a gift voucher - you would have to sell it to them to track it voucher # at redemption but how do you sell it without selling it?

Any thoughts? all the loyalty programs I have found are based on points. My customer wants it simply based on net sales.

There is a customer loyalty addon that supports this. There is a trial version download at:

We don't need an add-on, but a solution from MS to handle this! Here is how I do it, and if anyone has a better idea (that doesn't involve buying more software) I am all ears. If you track each sale by customer, you can look at their purchase history to determine when they break the 300. Then you either issue them a "coupon" or a voucher. I have tried both and both are a hassle. The problem with the voucher is you have to "buy" it, so on the back end of my accounting program I have to make an adjustment so that my sales are not overprojected. If you do a coupon, you then enter it as a total dollar discount from the customer's next sale. But then you really don't have a way to track use, and it becomes even more difficult if they don't use the total value of the coupon all in one shot. I would love for MS to come up with a solution for this. There are many threads on the topic. Jami

I have been playing around with this a bit more and this is what I have done. I have created a loyalty gc code assigned it as a voucher with a retail price of $15. I then created a loyalty gc giveaway code and assigned that as non inventory with a retail price of -$15 and then assigned this code as a tag along to the first code. That way when we find the customers with $300 in sales we can "sell" them a loyalty gc voucher but the total value of the sale is $0. That way their vouchers can be tracked and redemeed under the loyalty gc tender type.

Does my logic make sense? Can any> We don't need an add-on, but a solution from MS to handle this!
