Generate a PO from a "Commited Item"

Could someone explain to me how RMS can create a PO when it sees a committed order. I can not figure it out. Thanks Butch

To do this automatically you would need an addon. Digital Retailer mentioned they were building a tool to do this but I am not certain if they have completed or when they would be done. Manually you could run a detailed report on all your Open WorkOrders and BackOrders then create PO's for those items.

Run Purchase Orders and generate orders based by reorder information (the default). The committed item from the workorder, backorder, or layaway will be included on the suggested PO. You can also see these items by running a Quantity List report and setting To Order > 0. This works even if you don't set min/max levels in RMS. If you don't have any in stock the committed quantity on order moves the on hand quantity to negative. This triggers a suggested order. If you sell off floor models move the floor models to offline so RMS thinks you have zero in stock. If you play around with the workorder detail report you can also display which items have been ordered and which haven't. If you need something complicated than this you'll need to look for an add-in.
