HQ database on VMWare Virtual Server

Hi-

I am wondering what the reasons are that Microsoft doesnt support storing the HQ database on a virtual machine. The vendor group that we work with stated that this is not support by Microsoft and that they will not support any data or connectivity issues but I cannot find any documentation that states this. Since this is the direction our company is moving, I need to have a more detailed explanation. Can anyone provide some info or point me in the direction of some documentation that will help answer these questions.

Thanks Much!!

Thanks Robert. Can you elaborate on if this has caused any issues? I spoke with a Microsoft representative through a support request yesterday and they stated that having the database or app on a virtualized server isnt supported because it has not been tested by their developers. We are still considering moving the database but are looking for some other customer input on if they are doing this and it is working well for them.

Thanks for your help!
