Internet options and ports set up for CC/Debit processing

Even if I'm not an IT guru, I could set up the RMS by myself. However, I got a big obstacle. I've installed RMS SP3 and Windows XP SP2. After that I set up the RMS for credit/debit card processing. However, when I tried to test my system with my cards, I got connection fail errors. I tried several changes of internet options, but all in vain. I'm using CitiBank/Vital processor that is imbedded in the RMS. Is there any specialist to help me? Expecially for how to set up port 443 (credit) and port 5003 (debit) to make them bi-directional. I don't know where are these options for to change.

Thank you very much,

Try turning off the Windo$e or any other firewall and then try it.

If it works then, follow these instructions;

Internet orders or Citibank credit/debit card processing using Store Operations POS To designate the Store Operations POS application as an exception in Windows Firewall, follow these steps: 1.. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2.. In the left pane, click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click Windows Firewall. 3.. Click the Exceptions tab, and then click Add Program. 4.. Click Browse. 5.. Find the following path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\SOPOSUser.exe 6.. Click OK to save the changes.

Thanks a lot, anyway.

Try this and see what happens, you can test both 443 and 5003 ports;

Note After you have successfully contacted the Web site

click the link that is listed on the Web site to continue to the application port connection test. When the test screen appears, enter port number 5003, and then press ENTER. The test is successful if you receive a message that displays a green check mark. The test is unsuccessful if you receive a message that displays a red X. From ;

Thanks a lot, Jeff. Very helpful! All the network tests are okay. But still I have the same problem. Now it's time to look at the other factors.

Yes! Here's the solution.

We can set languages other than US English in the Control Panel > Region & Language option. We can select a certain language for non-Unicode programs in the Advanced option tab. My problem was I had set this to Korean instead of US English. I set this to US Englsh, my problem's gone.

Thanks a lot Jeff and RMS technical support staffs!
