I am new to the sofware and would like to find out whether or not the RMS has a function that automatically notifies an individual (via e-mail or daily report) of items on stock that need to be reordered based upon a user defined threshold for the item. If there is a function, could someone describe to me how to set this up. if not, is this something that might be in version 2.0

Hello Tony, this is actually included and fully functional in 1.2, the current rev of RMS. It is compiled as a Report style approach, and can be imported/used to generate a purchase order
Each item profile, under the Inventory tab, has the following fields:
Reorder: Restock Level (The quantity that you order once the stock level hits a critical point) Reorder Point (The critical level as determined by you)
Then, to use this information, you go to the Inventory Menu, select Purchase Order, then New. You will be prompted as to what approach to purchasing/reordering items you'd like.
"Generate based on re-order information" would poll the items against the criteria I mentioned above.
You can also generate based on group or a date range wherein the items were sold, to top your inventory off.
