Is there a way to interface my website shopping cart to POS invent

Our online company is expanding into retail sales and will be using some kind of POS system. I would like to find a way to have our website shopping cart and the POS databases update each other as sales are recorded in either database, in real time automatically.

Anyone doing something simular? Any suggestions on how this can be done?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I've been looking at how to do this for a couple of weeks now, and have run out of time. Had to make a choice from what I've found, and the only thing that made any sense at all was through a 3rd party vendor for Intuit's POS system. It requires a rebuild of my website and moving it to a different server, but it's should allow me to sell from our new store or the website and have inventory updates done in realtime throught the POS system's add-on module.

I guess we'll see...
