License (Register Lines)

Part One - I'm looking into purchasing RMS. I will have only one register. But would like to access all information from 3 other points within my office, (Back Office, PDA, and a Tablet PC), which would all access the data on a Server. Is this Possible, and which server features should I make sure to include, and how many licenses do I need of RMS.

Part Two - Are there features in RMS that I can use with a PDA, without purchase more Licenses. I would like to use a PDA to do inventory and create purchase orders.

Thank you Steven.

Steven,

As long as you don't try to enter POS with more that one machine at a time, a 1 lane license will work for you.

Steven,

Part 1 RMS is licensed by Lane, therefor you only need 1 license. Installation is pretty straight forward.

Part 2 In order to do inventory and PO's on a PDA you will need to invest in an add-on.

These are some of the available ones.

Yes I will be accessing the information from all points at the same time. I believe then I will need mutliple Licenses.

Steven,

You can have several back office computer running the Store Ops Manager program and have your POS machine running Store Ops POS all at the same time. For instance, you can have a Cashier ringing up sales while you are creating a PO in the back and someone else is creating items all at the same time. The only thing is you can only have the Store Ops POS running on one machine at one time. If that is what you want the system to do then all you need is 1 License. We have been selling RMS for over 2 years, trust me.

Steven,

Basically, you need the same number of licences as the number of POS l> Steven,

I can tell you why this is needed. Just this weekend. Had handwritten inventory pages to add about 500 new items to database. Rather than sitting in the store and doing it - want to go home and input the data, export that department data, put on jump drive to go back to store and import into the database.

No need for store ops POS at all. Just back office data. Anyone who knows how to do this without having to network, let me know because the eval runs out in just a few days then its a real pain. Being from QS days, I of course sell the system as being able to use back office for just what I described. Going to be in trouble at some point.
