hi Manoj,

POS provides you to create your own micro, but remmeber micro run particular events, you can press Ctrl+F3 to record the macro, but if you are saying that when you scan and a particular macro run it is sort of customization at the level of hook, becasue it something called event fire when something write at item lookup code.

Let me know why you want this feature.

thanks for reply akber

i have created a macro so the cashier can create a new item quickly. the macro clicks and opens the new item window. so instead of pressing the shortcut keys if they can press a custom button on the right it would be easier. and it would be more easier if the macro automatically starts when a new item is scanned. that way they can quickly enter the item info and the customer doesn't have to wait longer. please let me know if this can work.

or if a custom program can be made to do the following:

New item is scanned that?s not in the system and New item wizard appreas on the screen Cashier enters discription and presses enter. Item is in data base and appears on pos screen All other item properties are defaulted but can be changed with drop down menu (by press the first letter).

FOR EXAMPLE UPC 9281200 Automatically pick up when cashier scans a new item DISC Balloons Entered by cashier PRICE $1.29 Default but can be changed DEPT MISC Default but can be changed by drop down menu. Press P and Deps under P shows CATG MISC same SUPPL MISC same TAX MISC drop down menu COST 0.8 Default but can be changed QTY 12 Default but can be changed CANCEL ENTER

We have an application that will simulate a click to a macro key from a custom button. Basically you record a macro, then setup our application as a custom button the and custom button will essentially click the macro key for you. I think this is along the lines of what you are looking for. If interested please give me a call at 1-888-267-RITE or drop me an email at snipped-for-privacy@rite.us.
