MS RMS in Fast food users

Hi, I?m thinking in implement MS RMS in a Store Chain of fast food (Hamburgers, sodas, fried potatoes, etc,) but I?m watching problems with the inventory management for example how do you control the tomatoes if every hamburger uses 2 slices or the lettuce leaves if you don?t know the number of each lettuce?. Someone can tell me how to resolve these problems?

There are two ways I see that you can do this:

  1. Actually record tomatoes as tomatoe slices and actually keep them in the slices form and not in the whole form.
  2. The other way of doing this would be to make tomatoes as an assembly item as well and take an average of how many slices you can get from one tomatoe. So can have an assembly for a burger, an assembly for a sandwhich etc. Thus whenever you use these tomotoes you will know that you are using so many slices.

Could you use cost & flow sheets with list of ingredients (components) in:

- basic value (base Unit of Measure). For example:

  1. potatoes = 0.01 kilogram (you can know = 2 layers)
  2. tomato = 0.015 kilogram (= 2 slices)
3...

- basic value of your products (slices, units and etc.). But in this case you must use many cost & flow sheets (1 Bill of Materials (BOM) + several convertion BOM for each complex ingredient) for each products, because usual purchase and keep in Base unit of Measure, for example KG, Liter and etc.

But last decisi> Yes, thanks for the answer, I can use de "assembly" option or the "kit"
