Nitrosell (weblinx) vs. Storefront.net

Users please comment on your pro and con experiences with these systems. I have all the marketing materials from the manufactirers and partners.

We have narrowed down our search to these 2.

I am leary of the recurring costs of Nitrosell. I am also afraid of the coordination between 3 separate software packages that must work together to link RMS to Storefront (using Newest's program).

Actual experiences would be most helpful!

I need eBay payment ability through the webstore and affiliate support also. If a stand-alone program works with the web store, that would be OK too but I would prefer an integrated solution.

Anyone heard of a Amazon.com integration with RMS? We sell a LOT on Amazon.

You can email me if you wish. snipped-for-privacy@takethisout-mickiesplace.com

If one of your products is LaGarde's StoreFront.net, I can recommend that you avoid this product like the plague. We tried using their product a year and a half ago, and had an unbeleivable amount of problems. Their technical support was useless, and their "money back guarantee" isn't worth the paper it's printed on. We wound up eating the $2500 (plus the $500 or so for the New West integrator, but they were actually pretty decent people who were stuck partnering with a bunch of shysters).

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish and what webstore software you are using, you may be able to use somke of New West's products or code (they really are very helpful; you'll see them on this newsgroup from time to time), or you may be better off writing your own and getting a custom fit.

I have to second this opinion.

We made the mistake of believing the sales people at LaGarde about StoreFront.net and could only find reviews from people who had their hands held through demos by LaGarde's salespeople. We bit; then they BIT us HARD the wallet. Countess hours of lost time and LOADS of frustration. We even paid for "platinum support" that says you will get an email back within 2 hours if you have an issue. I've NEVER received an email back from them even after days. Email did not work right, plugins for postage and shipping were bug-ridden. What a mess. I could go on and on. And, it seemed like everytime we found a bug, they said "that's not our problem.. it's a third-party piece of code. We can modify it to work correctly, however. I'll get you a quote..." Nickle and dimed us to a VERY high bill. Plus their hosting prices are far more expensive than they are worth...

Unfortunately, we are stuck with them for a while while we look for another solution. But never again. To quote Monty Python: "run away! run away!"

Here's hoping this steers someone away from the nightmare we are currently in.

Have a great day!

You can request a trial of the Web Integrator and test the solution your self on your RMS server to see how it all works.

Kosmos also has the ability to integrate Gift Cards for your site too:

We also tried Storefront, and were fortunate enough to get out without costing ourselves too much money, though it HAS cost us months in time and we're back where we started.

After paying up front, and waiting... and waiting... we finally got on the phone with our "designer". Every minor little thing... "Well, that's not standard, and we'll have to customize it for you. Let me have someone send you a quote".

One example: We like flat shipping rates. Free standard, 25 for next day Fedex, 5 for USPS Priority, etc. Never been a problem with any other package, and we've been on the web since 2000. They acted like this was some outre idea that no one had ever attempted before, and wanted to charge us $6000.00 for the "custom programming"! After we pitched a fit, they lowered it to the "bargin" price of $3000.00.

We decided to get out while we could and get our money back. A month later, after one delay after another, we finally had to dispute the charge with our bank.

We were credited a week or so ago. Fingers crossed that this will be the end of it.

StoreFront.net is pure crap. Horrible support, overly complicated software, etc. Way too expensive. We implemented their store a couple years ago and it was the worst development experience of my life. I was so glad when we got rid of it. It was better for us to get rid of the software than to keep using it.
