Zebra Labels made easier

Make the interface between the RMS program and printing labels using Zebra printers more user friendly. Most people using this program are NOT computer programmers, and would like to stay away from having to learn a programming language to make this work. I currently have a Zebra S600 printer with 4 wide labels, I have had this since March, and still can't get it to print correctly out of RMS. If there was a way to have the label formats for these type of printers like the Avery labels - life would be GREAT. In your defense I do realize that it is not a easy task to incorporate another venders programming language into your product, but for the end users, an easy interface for the custom labels that these printers produce would be a great bonus for the RMS program to have. For the RMS, my current version is

1.2.0185.

I agree and complied with the response to help this plight, however who can decide which programming would be availble for which manufacturer? Zebra is popular, as is Monarch, Argox, Intermec, Dymo, Datamax ... to name a few.

In the mean time, what do you do with your existing equipment / functionality? Are you able to produce labels at all, outside of RMS?

Zebra has windows drivers. If you install them, you can use the label designer in RMS. I personally use Zebra printers with the EPL language, because I get much more control and capability than I do in the label designer. If you like the Avery style label formats that ship with RMS, just install the Zebra Windows driver, open the label you want to use in Label designer, change the description, paper size and layout properties to fit your label stock and do a Save As to create a new label. Expect to go through a few iterations before you get it right.

Your partner should be able to assist with the hardware they sold you. Maybe not for free, but they should be able to create the label you need. mt

Well interesting that you say that, my partner doesn't have anyone on staff that knows the ZPL language or how to get it to work, so what they came up with is they will learn this, if I foot the full rate to bring them up to speed. I guess nothing against them, but I don't really feel like paying

135/hour for some guy to read a book and try to figure this out. I wouldn't m> Your partner should be able to assist with the hardware they sold you.
